This service aims to break away from traditional Day Centre models by providing groups/activities specifically designed, managed and delivered by service users themselves. Facilities are decorated in a bright, contemporary and comfortable style, and include PC and Broadband Internet access, TV/Video/DVD, and kitchen.
We offer a friendly, warm, welcoming environment where people can relax, enjoy meeting together and access learning, recreational opportunities, advice and information. The Centre provides varied opportunities for socialising, peer support and developing individual skills and potential. The NRC operates an evolving programme of both weekday and out-of-hours activities, some in partnership with REMIT adult education Project. To access activities you are required to complete a referral form, please contact Resource Centre staff Tel: 0116 247 0335.
The Centre also rents out Boardroom and other meetings space free to mental health service user/carer groups and at a reasonable charge to other agencies to help fund NRC activities.
Any last minute changes to the time table will be announced on the Events page
